Journal of Neurological Sciences , 2012,
Abstract: Brain stem lesions are known to cause facial pain. Yet, classical trigeminal neuralgia (TN) due to brainstem lesions are very rare. To the best of our knowledge there are 4 cases in the literature with brainstem vascular malformations causing trigeminal neuralgia. We observed two patients with brain stem vascular malformations caused TN. The patient with cavernoma was treated with gamma knife radiosurgery. Second patient with capillary telangiectasia was well responded to medical treatment. We think that the damage to the intra-axial trigeminal nerve pathways resulted with the neuralgia.

Dicle Medical Journal , 2009,
Abstract: Spontaneous coronary artery dissection(SCAD) is a very rare cause of acute coronary syndrome. SCAD can cause stable angina, unstable angina, acute myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock and sudden cardiac death. Predisposing factors include atherosclerosis, the peripar-tum period, structural and inflammatory conditions affect-ing the arterial wall. The diagnosis is usually made by coronary angiography. The clinical presentation is similar to the atherosclerotic coronary artery disease. Prompt diagnosis and treatment of patients improves survival. Therapeutic options include medical therapy, percutane-ous coronary intervention and surgery. The four cases were presented an discussed with review of the pertinent literature.

International Journal of Intelligence Science (IJIS) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ijis.2015.52008
Abstract: Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) are systems that are primarily developed for use of paralyzed people. Although their main aim of use has a medical point of view, they can also be used for different aims such as entertainment and cognitive researches. Since BCI systems have specific brain potentials (P300, steady state evoked potential) and ERD/ERS (Motor Imagery), they are also flexible tools for cognitive science. In this study, an experiment was conducted with 30 participants. Each participant completed two tasks through a BCI and filled NASA-TLX forms. The results were analyzed using paired t-tests to see whether BCI tasks are significantly different in terms of creating cognitive load. The results showed that NASA-TLX scores of the BCI tasks were significantly different and these systems can be considered for estimating cognitive states studies.

Religious Foundations of Statements and Attitudes that Signify Ecstatic Utterances

Igdir University Journal of Social Sciences , 2012,
Abstract: Statements and attitudes called ecstatic utterance in mystical language and happened unconsciously in overflowing from the dab of Sufism have been the matter of a lot debates until today. It is difficult to know the true meanings and purposes of such statements, which are not possible both proving and refutation them, for someone else from who tell it. It is believed that these statements have been said in recovery, ecstasy, lost and supremacy; such that since they have outwardly been seemed contrary to religious rules, wherefore these aspects many of the Sufis have been accused of unbelief, furthermore, they have been given fatwas to be murdered. For all that, the dab of Sufism has been developed some solutions in order to get rid of these imputations and to defend the aforesaid statements. One of these solutions is the effort of attributing the statements and attitudes that signify ecstatic utterances to verses and hadith, and of approving to them by verses and hadith. But verses and hadith they have used, except for spot of them, had no concern with aforesaid statements.
TRILOGY- ANCIENT AGE, MIDDLE AGE AND NEW AGE- IN THE DIVIDING HISTORY INTO AGES AND THE EUROCENTRIC HISTORY CONSTRUCTION
Necmettin ALKAN
Journal of International Social Research , 2009,
Abstract: one of the most significant paradigms or preassumptions of the science of history. Both academic and amateur historians are dividing historical period into Ancient Age, Middle Age and New Age by starting from these preassumptions. Professional specializations in the field of history are being prepared according to this, too.The three system which became common part of the human history was constituted in a long period. Aurelius Augustinus (354-4309), the father of Catholic Church, divided historical period according to the Bible for the first time. Christian religious after him continued this tradition and matured this thought as before Christ and after Christ by centering on Jesus. German theologian and historian Christoph Cellarius (1634-1707) who started from this tradition and inheritance made the existing trilogy by giving the last form to it. Almost everybody who was effective upon arising of the trilogy were Catholic and Protestant ecclesiastics. While these ecclesiastics were constituting the system, they preferred the event which were connected with Christian religion and the geography of Europe. Thus, one of the pillars of the construction of “Eurocentric History” which is present came into being. This scheme which is “Clerical”, “Regional” and “Arbitrary” is not relevant especially with the history of the human being and the history of the nations which are not Christian and from West Europe. It is not relevant with Turkish History and The History of Islam. The History of Turkish-Islam which is aimed by editing it in this form is made swallow and became poor in this way. As a result of this, Turkish historians should work by putting on the agenda a novel dividing of ages relevant to their own history.

Meragi Meragi is invited to Tabriz, Celayirli palace. This invitation makes him think that ‘I have to play and sing whatever is demanded from now on’. There are some concerns that arise in his mind when Sultan üveys and his son ?ehzade Hüseyin come together. He questions himself ‘Even though I have reached the potential to make everyone jealous in a young age like a sparkling star in the open sky, I can find my path with orders ‘If this isn’t being a servant (kul) to another servant then what is it?’. Sultan Hüseyin along with the great known musician R?dvan?ah narrates on a composition named ‘nevbet-i mürettep’. Meragi does not feel happy although he is surrounded by high-ranking people who love, respect and give him the privilege to express his opinions in the councils of the rulers. In this respect, Gecenin Yaln?zl??? is an important work for Turkish novel as it reflects the realities of artists who seem to enjoying the glamarous life in palace. This study aims to analyze Abdülkadir Meragi’s actions and reactions in the face of wars at that time and difficulties he experienced. Moreover, the process of creation of his work in the midst of these turmoils will be one of the focuses this study
